Friends of the Atmore Public Library,
formed to provide support for
the Library,
is funded through memberships
and donations
of caring citizens who realize
the importance
and value of this resource to
our community
and the surrounding areas.

During 2008,
contributions to the Friends of the Library helped match funds for a
children's book grant. They also
provided three entertainers for our 2008 Summer Reading Program.
Attendance for all 6 programs was 621 children and 275 adults.
Over 2,250 children's books were checked out during the six-week
program. The Friends purchased a multimedia projector which is
being used for children and adult programs. These contributions enabled us to better serve our
patrons.
Without our
Friends of the Library we could not possibly provide the level of
service we do. Of the 24 computers in the library, the Friends
helped purchase 21 of these computers through matching grant funds.
THANK
YOU FRIENDS!
