KEEP IN TOUCH!
The Library now offers soldiers
and their families a way to keep in touch--face-to-face!
Thanks to Gov. Bob Riley and
APLS, we now have an iMac
computer that has a built-in webcam for communicating with loved
ones whether it is
overseas or in the United
States. 106 libraries in the state of Alabama were chosen,
and we are very happy to have
received the iMac. This
is a free service and we hope that families in the community will
come and use it. If you have
any questions please contact
the library at 251-368-5234.

Atmore Public Library Receives
Grant
The
Atmore Public Library was recently awarded a $7,760 LSTA (Library
Services Technology Act.)
Collection Development Grant through Alabama Public Library
Service. The Friends of the Library will
provide
$2,000 for the local match.
The
Library is adding and updating books, videos and audio materials
in the children's department.
This has
been an ongoing project with donations from the Poarch Creek
Indians, Representative Alan
Baker's
Community Service Grant and Youth Leadership Atmore. By the end of
the grant cycle the children's
department should have the most current reference material and the
latest fiction for the children to
gain
knowledge from and enjoy.
This is
one of the many projects the Friends of the Library Board
contribute to, thanks to your generous
donations to their annual drive.
